Crafting a Nest

I have been wanting to make this nest for a few weeks now. You know how it is, good intentions, put away, off to the side until you step on the pile! The original idea came from the stampin' success     Magazine for Demonstrators. So, Yes, It is a CASE-copy and steal everything (in a nice way). We get so many great ideas from this publication and this was one of their Art Show ideas.

I have added a picture tutorial for you on how I created this fun piece of paper art. All supplies are Stampin' Up!® and the "crafty items" came from a local "money" store. I like Cheap crafting items.

1. Get your grapevine wreaths-I used 2 small 6" pieces. Tie them together with Bind Wire. (I use this to tie on my delicate Christmas tree ornaments.)

2. Cut out Moss and stuff into wreath.

3. Add moss.

4. Flip over and glue gun moss into place. Yup, it was messy but fun.

5. The paper måché Egg.

I used the soon to be retiring Blossom Punch (#122464 $23.95) and a glue gun to attach the petals. I used Textured Baja Breeze C.S. (#121075 $11.95). All textured C.S.will be retired this month so get yours today. Visit here to see the retiring list.

6. Use your Spritzer tool (I know you have it in that drawer, just dust it off).

I used Soft Suede Stampin' Write Marker (#120973 $3.50) and the Color Spritzer Tool (#107066 $12.95)

7. Speckled Eggs.

and Finally-

The Nest!

I used the following dies:

Sizzlit: Little Leaves #114511 $5.50

Embosslit: Beautiful Wings #118138 $11.95

Bigz Die: Beautiful Butterflies #114507 $21.95

Love my Sizzix Big Shot! (#113439 $99.95)

also-the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Bunch Pack (#118309 $16.95)

I hope you Enjoyed this post. Go and make something crafty today!

–7:00PM Update–

Rethink a Nail file

I recently made several gifts to donate to a friend's Senior Center. Every Thursday is Bingo and they needed little gifts for the prizes. Her budget is $0! So Sad.

So, a bunch of us in the Home show business came up with some goodies. Of course you know when you ask me-you know the goodies will be fun. Here is a simple idea. Just take some fun Large nail files and spiff them up with a few punches (shocking-No stamping involved). Of course a few pieces of "Bling" with our Rhinestones.

I even had a few of the Butterfly files and used some of our Summer Smooch paper pack (#125409 $10.95) for the inside of this Butterfly.

Since this Sunday is Easter-I think these would make a great little gift for those preteen and teenagers who think they no longer need a Easter Basket. These particular files just slip right out of the package in back of the decorated punch area. It is a perfect little Hostess gift or a Door Prize for you ladies of "All" Home Shows.

Enjoy!

Candy Bar Holder and Tutorial

Hmmm, nothing like a candy bar. A highly decorated candy bar holder, even better!

How is this for Fun. Easy to decorate a Candy Bar of your choice. The bar fits nice and snug. I decided that you should have a picture tutorial for this candy bar holder:

Measurements are:

10 1/4" X 2 3/4" Length

Then score it using our Brand New Simply Scored Tool from the Holiday Mini. I love it.

Simply Scored scoring tool #122334 $29.95-What a Great Gift-To YOU!

Score at 5" and 5 1/4". Then flip and score lengthwise on both sides 1/4".

Then cut those little tabs.

Use your Bone Folder (#102300 $6.95) to smooth back creases.

Snail it! (#104332 $6.95 and refill #104331 $4.50)

Now put it together. Behold…the Box!

Now you want to decorate your box.

I used Basic Black C.S. and Frightful Sight DSP.

Measurements for these are :

4 7/8" X 2 1/8" for the Black C.S.

2" X 4 3/4" for the DSP

Then I used the Big Shot for the die cuts. I used Whisper White and Basic Black C.S.

Then I used Cajun Craze and Lucky Limeade markers to decorate the Candy stamp. TIP ALERT: Don't forget to use your markers. They really are a great tool and you can get so much more out of your stamps. Another reason – I give a pack of markers to my downline when she or he has reached the $1,000 in sales mark within their first 6 months.

Just cut out using the Postage stamp punch.

Next put the two Circle Die Cuts together with snail and added a Ghost. A touch of Lucky Limeade under the ghost adds a bit of shadow, slime, glow, you decide.

Now piece everything together with dimensionals to add a bit of lift. A real 3-D Candy Bar.

Here are the measurements again:

10 1/4" X 2 3/4"

Fold/score/crease 5" and 5 1/4" and then turn and score 1/4" on both long sides.

The outside papers:

4 7/8" X 2 1/8"

2" X 4 3/4"

Supplies I used:

Stamp Set: Spooky Bingo Bits (#123944 (w) $37.95, #123946 (c) $27.95)

Card Stock: Cajun Craze (#119684 $6.95), Basic Black (#121045 $6.95), Whisper White (#100730 $8.50)

Designer Series paper: (#122351 $10.95)

Ink: Staz On Black (#101406 $7.95)

Markers: Lucky Limeade (#123002 $14.95 for all 5 In Color marker pack) and Cajun Craze (#119678 $3.50)

Punch: Postage Stamp Punch (#122344 $15.95)

Big Shot (#113439 $99.95), Perfect Pennants Die (#123126  $32.95)

Snail (#104332 $6.95, refill 104331 $4.50)

Simply Scored Scoring Tool (#122334 $29.95)     +++ Your Next Awesome tool!+++

Bone Folder (#102300 $6.95)

Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430 $3.95)

A Chocolate Purse

I Love Chocolate.

I Love packaging ideas.

Together-Perfect!

I have for you a little idea that is super easy to make.

This little guy will hold a Hershey Chocolate Nugget. I have added a bit of a punch tip idea if you have not discovered this already.

Punch a hole into your Card Stock with either your 1/16" Circle Punch or like this Paper-Piercing Tool.

Then line up the hole with your punch. A perfect center for your brad.

Ta-Da!

Here are the supplies I used:

A No Stamp Project:

Card Stock: Pacific Point #111350 $6.95, Daffodil Delight #119683 $6.95

Ribbon: Basic Black 1/8" Taffeta #119261 $5.95

Silver Brad:#104336 $6.95 (200)

Sticky Tape to Hold Chocolate: #104294 $6.95

Paper Piercing Tool:  #116631 $3.50

Punches: Eyelet Border 119853 $15.95 and Boho Blossoms #119858 $16.95

Of course My Big shot was needed: Textured Impressions Embossing Folder-Perfect Polka Dots #117335 $7.95

Dimensions of purse: Pacific Point Blue is 5" X 1 1/2". I creased at 1 1/2", 2 1/2", 4". I creased first then ran it through the Embossing Folder. The I punched the front of the purse with the eyelet border punch. Use Center hole of punch to place your brad with flower to hold purse together.

So easy and fun to make, Enjoy!
