This has been a rough December

Laura · December 14, 2012 · 1 Comment

Yes, I know, it's been awhile since I posted on my blog. Normally, As you all know, if you have been following me, I post in December-A Lot. But, it's been so busy with family stuff, a few craft fairs, and Unfortunately lots of sick family members. Three of us got food poisoning from a frozen pizza. Already contacted the company and They contacted us twice to make sure we are OK. Then my youngest daughter-Addie got the stomach Flu a few days later-She had not eaten the pizza. Could have been leftover from sharing her sisters straw or a fellow 4-k-er. Who knows. Then Our Septic Tank decided it would be fun to explode from our Bar sink in the basement and cover our carpet and all the contents in the bar area with Black Nasty Sludge. Can we just say it has been a bad week. (I wrote this on Thurs. December 13th.)

And now, a very personal note and commentary: As of this afternoon, Friday the 14th, everything seems to be back up and running, everyone seems healthy and both kids are safe at home.

I will say a prayer for ALL who are affected by the Horrible Tragedy in Connecticut. My Heart goes out to all those family members, including the Family of the slain Mother /Teacher at the school. I left Police profession back in 2000 and I can honestly say, from my view point, It just seems like things get worse and worse. My Husband Retired 5 years ago and he agrees with me as well. You can imagine the talks we have going on in our home tonight. I am thinking we need more Prayer at a time like this-no matter your faith. I can not imagine handling a situation this bad as a cop, and as a parent now, it seems unreal. I can not imagine nor do I wish to try, to think of scenarios of what could happen in our area. My heart goes out to those handling the case and all the families that left the scene without children and those who have to answer Very Big Questions to all those that survived and witnessed. My thoughts and prayers will be with you tonight and the upcoming days. God Bless all of you.

Now, on to letting you know what I am planning for you in the next few weeks.

The Ho Ho Ho Here comes Santa Clause Special just couldn't happen this year since it is too late in the month. However, Sunday, I will have a "Fun Giveaway" that will hopefully make up for that.

I am planning on sharing more from my Holiday Stamp Camp and I will Have my always popular-5 Days of Christmas ideas starting next week.

So, in the mean time, Sorry I have not been blogging so much but sometimes Life really does take hold and I needed to be more present in the moment. I know many of you understand. Thanks for your comments as I always enjoy them.

But it wouldn't be right if I didn't share a little something with you today:

I left a treat with a friend who sold me a great board game for my daughter for Christmas. She use to sell Simply Fun Home show parties and She had at least one in her home still. I was thrilled. So, it's important to reward those who make you happy!

Here was a little reward I whipped up:

A nifty treat box
