I just Love my New Blendabilities markers.
Do YOU like to color? Do you remember your days of coloring and hanging up your pages on the ‘frige, the bulletin board, even the back of your bedroom door?
Now, I am not an expert. Yes, OK , so I have an Art Degree in Graphic Arts, but I only dabbled a bit with alcohol markers 20+ yrs ago. I enjoyed using them then but for filling in the designs, not necessarily coloring perfectly with them. My markers back then were expensive and I only had a few colors. They had felt tips back then and did fray a bit. The Blendabilities have Nylon tips and should hold up very well. Another nifty point-the barrel is square and flat and will not roll off my art desk. That is a Huge plus for me. Like many of you, I am revisiting my coloring days and starting over with these New markers rather than crayons. I need a lot more practice, not a problem. They are really smooth. I will even say FUN! I have to keep an eye on them as my daughters discovered them in my office and I had to explain to them why they needed to be careful with them and only use them when I am with them. Supplies/Toys-sort of the same thing.
Get some of our Whisper White Card Stock and the New Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad (the Staz-on Ink pad will smear with the alcohol ink).

You are now ready. I will refer to these markers -for short- as “Blendies”.
I will tell you right now, You will Love these. Even if you have never tried coloring with markers before. I like making some of my cards and projects more then what they are. I want them to be true works of Art. Yes, many people do appreciate the item when they receive it and yes, some do end up in the garbage (say it isn’t so!). I admit, sometimes my favorite items I post on my Blog, don’t always make it out the door. I like to keep some of my favorites. But, with so many of our Awesome New image stamps in the catalog and these New markers, there will be no excuses, I just have to share.
Check out this easy card with the flower as the focal point. The color just draws you in. It’s really Beautiful-in person.
I used the Melon Mambo “Blendie” markers (Sorry-not available until August-I am such a tease).
Let me show you the difference between coloring with a Blender pen, and the “Blendies”:
I used the Staz-On Ink, the Blender pen and the Melon mambo Ink pad. I pulled color off the lid to color in my flower. After a bit, there is pilling on the Whisper white paper. If I keep coloring, there will not be much left of my flower.
The next one, used the Memento Ink Pad, and the Melon Mambo “Blendies”.
Much Better, and you can keep on coloring, layering and it just never seems to hurt it.
You should always cut out or layer your work as you will have bleeding through. It’s OK, you want it that way. I added a dimensional in the center to lift that flower up a bit on the card.
Looks better this way anyway.
Stay tuned for more Coloring ideas. I have a feeling when that New Holiday Catalog comes in the mail-I will see all kinds of Fall and Holiday reasons to color.
Did I get you to think about coloring? Take a moment and make something today.
Here are the supplies I used:
