I’m not sure if I should tell you what my favorite stamp set is in the Mini Catalog. I mean, I don’t want to influence you too much. You may already like other sets, what difference would it make? None. My favorite is the Positive Thoughts stamp set on page 23. There are so many sets to choose from but I just like this one. It’s so Organic, calling to my wildlife background. Years ago, I wanted to be an Ornithologist. It’s the study of Birds. I chose schools with a Wildlife program. A couple of school choices later, UW-Stevens Point called to me. Located near the Wisconsin River, lots of woods with trails to visit: it was a perfect fit. That first semester, I am lucky I made it out alive. Passed, I mean. I thought that my love for Wildlife would have me sucking in all that information, notes from class, etc. and would automatically do great. Wrong. After the grades came out over Christmas break, I knew then, my love for birds and wildlife would be a hobby. That next semester, I walked over to the Fine Arts Dept and switched over to my next love-ART. So Happy! Four years later, I had that BFA in hand. My Love for nature has never diminished. I am very blessed to be surrounded by it daily: Lakefront, 60+ acres of woods behind the house, 6 Bird feeding stations with a birdbath. The occasional Bald Eagle, waterfowl (Geese and loons of course), songbirds galore, a pair of Great Horned Owls, Pileated Woodpeckers, about 30 gray squirrels, deer, and turkeys. It’s Wonderful. I always said I would live on a lake no matter what. That was a huge dream and goal that came true.
Wildlife Management was not in the cards, but I can create fabulous works of nature with our stamps. This stamp set makes me happy and gets my creative self back in my stamping office. On an another note-Go Pointer’s!
Just three bookmarks created with this fun set. So bright and cheerful. I could have made tags and tons more bookmarks, but this will do for now. Two of the ribbon are colored with the ink pads. It’s easy to pull the ribbon over the ink pad to create any color choice. Did you see the feather and leaf stamps? It’s a beautiful set. I did use the splatter stamp from Painted Poppies (#151599 $23.000. It added the right touch to my designs. It makes you wonder what I will do next with this set, right?
Sneak Peek Alert: Coordination dies for Positive Thoughts stamp set beginning February 4th, 2020. Yippee! It’s #153586 Nature’s Thoughts dies for $29.00. So amazing. Are you starting to see why I like it? This set begs to be put together, all over, even if you are a clean and simple stamper, as in, no collage. It reminds me a bit of print making. Whatever your style is, just stamp.
