Floral Mother’s Day Cards.

Laura · May 5, 2009 · 1 Comment

I had a Big Shot Class last Sunday and the idea was to do more with the floral embosslits dies as well as the regular sizzlits. Here are a couple of ideas using the Potted plant card pattern that is floating out there on the internet. My pattern idea came from Sudsol (a Demo only site) and inspired from other web sites and blogs. Here is my idea using Choc.Chip Textured C.S. and Really Rust and Pumpkin Pie C.S. The first idea is of the whole grouping, second pic is a close up of the textured C.S. as well as the vanilla Craft ink and the canvas background stamp.

The next photos show how I put this fun card together.  For the base card- 31/2″ x 9″.

The inside piece that looks like a book mark- 4 1/2″ x 2 1/4″ and 4 1/4 x 2″.

On the base card you fold at 2″ x 5 1/2″. It will look like a Z fold.

Then use the Scallop border punch.

Now-let’s make that Nifty Potted plant pot shape. Put the card at the 1/2″ line and the other side in the middle of the cutting track of your cutting tool. Trim, flip card over and trim out the other side.

Just add a tiny bit of tape to the backside of card-I like to do this to hold my ribbon in place so that I am not fumbling with my ribbon in the front. Of course this idea works wonders for many projects.

Now just add your flowers. For this example I used the Scallop circle punch. Too Cute. Tonight I was the entertainment/crafty segment for a Brownie Troop from Williams Bay. We made these for Mother’s Day project along with the next card idea (they did a Thank You version). Hope you enjoyed my post.
