I have been wanting to make this nest for a few weeks now. You know how it is, good intentions, put away, off to the side until you step on the pile! The original idea came from the stampin' success
Magazine for Demonstrators. So, Yes, It is a CASE-copy and steal everything (in a nice way). We get so many great ideas from this publication and this was one of their Art Show ideas.
I have added a picture tutorial for you on how I created this fun piece of paper art. All supplies are Stampin' Up!® and the "crafty items" came from a local "money" store. I like Cheap crafting items.
1. Get your grapevine wreaths-I used 2 small 6" pieces. Tie them together with Bind Wire. (I use this to tie on my delicate Christmas tree ornaments.)
2. Cut out Moss and stuff into wreath.
3. Add moss.
4. Flip over and glue gun moss into place. Yup, it was messy but fun.
5. The paper måché Egg.
I used the soon to be retiring Blossom Punch (#122464 $23.95) and a glue gun to attach the petals. I used Textured Baja Breeze C.S. (#121075 $11.95). All textured C.S.will be retired this month so get yours today. Visit here to see the retiring list.
6. Use your Spritzer tool (I know you have it in that drawer, just dust it off).
I used Soft Suede Stampin' Write Marker (#120973 $3.50) and the Color Spritzer Tool (#107066 $12.95)
7. Speckled Eggs.
and Finally-
The Nest!
I used the following dies:
Sizzlit: Little Leaves #114511 $5.50
Embosslit: Beautiful Wings #118138 $11.95
Bigz Die: Beautiful Butterflies #114507 $21.95
Love my Sizzix Big Shot! (#113439 $99.95)
also-the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Bunch Pack (#118309 $16.95)
I hope you Enjoyed this post. Go and make something crafty today!
–7:00PM Update–
I had to post this. My daughter Addie must have placed this bird on my nest. It's her Beanie Baby Robin. Too Funny. Had to share.
