Thinking Mason Jars

Laura · August 21, 2012 · Leave a Comment

I had my local stampers 6 group this week. I told them-I'm thinking Mason Jars. Just a hint .

Here was the final result and I like it:

It's filled with Yummy Carmel filled Wonka chocolates. Of course anything would be great to give someone.

I am loving the Apothecary Accent Framelits (#127003 $24.95). Of course you will be seeing more…

For the oval part of the label, I choose the flower stamp of the new Perfectly Preserved set (w) #126690 $28.95, (c) 126692 $20.95. I am using some of the S.U. Fabric (Spice Cake #124066 $9.95) and needed a different pattern for the focal point then what I had. So I made one.

First, stamp the flower several times onto Very Vanilla Card Stock (#101650 $8.50). Stamp using Fresh ink each time for a consistent look. If you prefer a lighter look, stamp off onto scratch paper then stamp onto the Vanilla Card Stock-same amount of times. I am using More Mustard Ink (#126964 $5.95).

Then punch out with Large Oval punch (119855 $15.95). I hope I got you thinking differently about some of your stamps and what you can do with them. It's a small idea that can lead to bigger results.

The label:

I hid the hole punch under the label for the ribbon to go through. I used the New 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon (#126871 $4.95-Early Espresso).

Easy Peasy! Now you go make one or a dozen. Canning jars are on sale and plentiful right now. Get 'em while they are out in the stores in all shapes and sizes. Or while garage sales are still on. People want the jars to go because they don't realize how Awesome it is to decorate. I told my Mom (who does not cook) to just get a couple of nice jars at the farmers market and stands-decorate the lids and add a nice tag. DONE! Easy giftable. I am sending a Shout out to Kirsteen G. Thanks much for giving me the label help/idea. My jars thank you…..
