Autumn Banner

Laura · August 23, 2013 · Leave a Comment

A few weeks ago I made this Autumn Banner for my Stamping Club in Hartford. The Hostess for August, Sue, asked me in July – Could we make a Fall Banner. It was a Challenge for me. There are so many nice ones out there, some way to complicated and some, well, this is what I came up with. Sometimes it's good to use what you have.

I just LOVE the way this turned out. Yes, It looks like a bit of work and it was. It took our group the full 2 1/2 hours to complete but if I would have brought an extra Glue Gun it probably would have gone a bit faster. I cut out the strips for the Rosettes (Lollies, etc) and used the Rosette die. Seriously-That was easy to use. Once again-If you do not have a Big Shot-You need to invest in one. The die cuts are great. Anything that I did not HAVE to score by hand especially all of these-was Perfect.

Here is a quick visual of the piece to create.

The Strips of Sweater Weather DSP:

Ready-to-cutPlace the 2 strips on the die.

CutNice cut.

Easy-FoldSee how easy it is to fold. It cut and scored. Perfect!

Love-Super-Sticky-StripYou Need Sticky Strip Adhesive. Yup-We sell it.

Here is how I got the look of the Triangle Banner:

ink-itInk It.

PaperStamp it twice on 41/4" X 51/2" sheet.

Place-on-dieFold and place on Perfect Pennants Die. You would need to do these steps 2 more times for Triangles.

Die-Cut-trianglesNifty Triangles!

Sponge-itSponge it and give it an aged look.

Glue-onto-Glue onto another triangle for strength if you are using Card Stock only. If you use a heavier board it may only need one layer. It's heavy but Sturdy once you add all the pieces.

I did notice that after I put the letters on-it was a retired die. Ugh. Well, that's OK. I love the look anyway and our current Alphabet would have been just fine too. But I have it and I will be making another to sell at a craft fair. My Ladies in Hartford Loved it. And that is all that matters.
