A Simmering Christmas Potpourri Gift.
Earlier this past Summer, I went searching for a slightly used or even New, food dehydrator. After searching through 15 garage sales, craig’s listings, 5 estate sales in Chicago, I found one. It was NEW, never used, a bit of dampness on the box from being in the basement, but NEW and perfect, for just $10. I was very happy, and the seller needed to downsize to a condo after his wife passed, so no haggling or dickering here!
I planned on making Holiday simmering Potpourri as one of my projects for my Holiday Stamp Camp, held annually in November. I also knew that this was going to take some time on my part so I needed to get this started early. It’s always a learning curve when one starts a new project. But, after a few trial and errors, I had nice dehydrated oranges, lemons, and apples. It went over well as one of my projects and I thought I would share this fun and easy gift idea with you. Of course, you might want this idea for the future and not something to just whip up overnight. Unless YOU do have one of these fine machines and are ambitious.
I tweaked this recipe from 10 I found on the internet! You can always add/adjust the Cloves and Nutmeg:
5 Cinnamon Sticks
1 dried Lemon Slice
1 dried Orange Slice
1/4 cup Whole Cloves
1 tbs Nutmeg
1/4 cup whole Allspice
2-3 leaves of Bay Leaves
3-4 dried Apple Slices
The package was simple as I wanted the ingredients to stand out.
The backside with directions:
ENJOY this terrific gift idea.
