Acorn box

Laura · August 25, 2015 · 1 Comment

If you have been following me for a few years, you know I sell acorns at craft fairs in the Fall. I have good news and bad news. The Bad News first. The property I use to get the acorns from has a new, nasty, strange owner. The previous owner died (God Rest her soul, A Beautiful Kind woman) and her adopted daughter is now in charge. We are no longer collecting from her tree. Staying clear. Very sad. The Good news, Stampin’ Up!® has a New Stamp set in the Holiday Catalog called “Acorny Thank You”. This is certainly one of my new favorites. Time for a sneak peek picture tutorial using this set.

Thankful-Acorn-BoxIsn’t this cute!

Here is how I created this cute box using-Into The Woods DSP, also from the Holiday Catalog.

Start with a 6″ X 6″ piece of Designer Series paper:

6-X-6-Sheet-

Score 1″ on all 4 sides:

Score-at-1'

then score on one side 2 1/2″ and 3 1/2″:

Score-at-2'-x-3-'

Fold on all score lines:

Fold-

Cut on score lines on 2 sides.

Trim-on-sides

I made better cuts -triangle cuts:

Make-V-cuts

It should look like this on opposite side as well:

How-it-looks

Add (your choice) adhesive/Glue/Sticky Tape/Scor Tape/Tear and Tape to smaller tabs on all 4 sides:

Add-Adhesive

Put together lower part of box:

Fold-in-box-base

Then finish with top of box. All sides should be glued inside of box giving it a clean look:

Get-all-side-glued

How’s that for a nice little box:

The-Box

I added my little Acorn and the Thankful greeting:

Thankful

What’s inside-a teeny, tiny Tic Tac pack of course. To hot for chocolate right now:

Tic-Tacs

And the box again:

Thankful-Acorn-Box

So much fun. Perfect for a Life Saver roll, perhaps a chap stick, maybe money. Even though our stamp set and DSP won’t be available until Sept 1st, go ahead and make one anyway with any of our current DSP.

On to Deals Of The WEEK:

Hope you like,

Enjoy!
