Red Balloons

Red-Balloons-up-close

I love Red.

I love Red Balloons.

The Crystal Effects gave the balloons the right glossy look that I needed for today’s post.

Thoughts of red balloons have been on my mind lately.

This is probably because of the short film and book of my youth-The Red Balloon. In fact, I just found the book in my youngest daughter’s room on a bookshelf. I think I have always been fascinated with the color RED. All of my vehicles have been Red and I look good in red hues. Yet, as a young girl, I loved the color Blue. Blue dresses, Blue Carnations, Blue walls in a room. It’s funny how are tastes change with time. Colors can inspire you. As a Demonstrator, I dabble with all colors. You can choose your own combinations from our 4 great color charts. These Balloons would probably look great in Pacific Point Blue or Blackberry Bliss. My idea today is not geared toward a child’s gift bag and card but rather an elegant adult version. I have turned the Mini treat bag into a fun box/bag. This just might fit a small bottle of wine or mini Champagne with a straw. OK, Chocolate-Dark Chocolate! So let’s get started.

Elegant Red Balloon Birthday

Here is a Picture Tutorial for You:

You will start by Cutting out two main pieces of the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. And-it’s on sale this week too. How convenient!

Cut-out-2-bags

Now trim off the top edging. These are your sides of your box.

Trim-off

Do this on both pieces.

Trimmed-off-piece

Score at 3/8″ on both pieces. These will fold in and attach to inside of box.

Now add Tear and Tape Adhesive. If you have time-use the Tombow Glue. I never have time so use the sticky tape. Fast fuse will work as well.

Add-Tear-and-Tape-Adhesive

Fold over with a bone folder and make sure score lines are crisp. Line up your edges and tape together.

Tape-together

Now you have the main box. Flip over.

The-Box

The tape goes end to end.

Bottom-of-the-box

Your smaller piece will be 4 1/2″ X 1  6/16″. Yes, it’s a tight one. You may have to play with the width a bit on this. Every box is a bit different so by going a tad wider first and then adjusting with scissors is best.

Add-the-base

Your box bags!

I hope this Box idea made from a small the Mini Treat “bag” die will inspire you. Need more inspiration-Click here and Check out a post from a year ago.
