In Everything, Give Thanks

side-view-of-in-everything

Sometimes, I get that crafty, gotta design feeling, RIGHT NOW feeling. That feeling was in full force last evening until about 1:15AM. I was past the Halloween feeling and needed to just create a card. One that was of my own design and not a “cased” idea. This is one of those cards and I hope you like.

I needed to work with Copper and fall colors. I have stated before that I am not a fan of Paisleys but I really like the Petals & Paisleys Specialty Designer Series Paper. What makes it Special is the 1 of each 2 single-sided designs with Copper Foil. It’s pretty cool, even for this DSP. I may have to order more.

There are three stages to this card. First, I decided on a Very Vanilla card base. I trimmed the DSP 5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″ and added snail adhesive to the back and placed on top of the Vanilla card.

Second stage, I played with the Copper Foil Sheet. I decided this needed the Layered look of the Lots of Labels Thinlits. The first time around I used the smaller pieces but after placing it on the card, I decided to make it a bit bigger. Then I wanted to pull out a little of the Green color that is in the design. I used the next two smaller label thinlits and placed on top of Mint Macaroon C.S.  Just a hint was just what I needed.

The third part to this card is the greeting. I used a Very Vanilla scrap and stamped the saying into Cajun Craze ink. I decided that the greeting is the most important part of this card. My Very Vanilla C.S. goes right to the edge of the card on the right. I was playing with the idea that it should continue onto the left side, but that was way too much. I want the card to look good, not frighten anyone away.

I placed dimensionals all over the back so that it would give it the lift but also the stability.

And that is my card.
