Hugs and Kisses.
I could use some right now. This past Wednesday, I found my 87 yr-old Mother-In-Law on the floor. We happened to stop by unannounced after helping a client with furniture in the city. Virginia may have been laying there 24-36 hrs. Diagnosed as a Massive Stroke, she’s in a hospital, resting comfortably. The scans revealed 40% of her brain had been affected. Right now her left side is not working right, speech slurred, and she had a feeding tube inserted, finally, just yesterday on Friday. Yikes. She has been taking care of her 60 something daughter, Don’s sister who is mentally unstable. Patricia did not remember how to call for help on a phone or try to go outside for help. I will share that the word in my mind right now is-(nice or not nice) “Clusterf#%*”!!! This is not how I expected the year to start. A year ago I placed my Mom in Assisted living with Dementia. Thankfully, my Mom is doing well and reasonably happy as can be.
I wanted to make something that cheered me up to place on my blog for you before I head to the City with my girls (11 and 9) to see Grandma Virginia. It’s going to be tough but my girls will be just fine. She has been a tremendous Blessing to my girls. All I could wish for in a grandmother for my girls. She always loves them, kisses them, hugs them. My girls could be messy, food on the face, sick with a cold, bad mood, no matter. Yes, she is a bit out there and quirky, But I love her. At this time it’s unknown what the future holds for her. Life changing for her as well as we figure out what to do, where she and my Sister-in-law will both live. So, actual Hugs and Prayers, Good Vibes sent for my Hubby Don, his Mom and our family are needed.
Here is a little something I whipped up for you:
