When you need a quick B-day Card

Laura · October 26, 2019 · Leave a Comment

There are times, you just need a quick Birthday card and you need it like 1/2 hour ago. This was the case. I also figured, as long as my stamps and supplies were out, I’ll make at least three.

These cards use the Piece of Cake Stamp Set and the Cake builder punch. The key for quick, make a bunch of the cakes and pedestals ahead of time. I had stamped them in Stazon Black and left them in the stamp set. I added color with a Blender Pen and glued in place. On the cake, I colored in with a Wink of Stella dipped in Mellon Mambo ink that was pooled in the lid. No smear and I was actually able to pull off the light to dark (Ombre Technique) on two of them.  I popped them up off the card with dimensionals. It took me a half-hour with all three but it was worth it. It probably would have been longer if I had had to layout the stamps and then punch them out.

The take away here is when you have the chance, cut or punch out pieces ahead of time when you have the stamps out. You never know when you will need to make that quick Birthday card. Of course, super quick, just stamp, no added extras like punching out. Either way, stamp something today.
