Kindness Framed Art

I love just playing around with my stamps. When I have time! I wonder if you feel the same way?

I wanted to share the Brusho product with my long time Beloit Ladies Bi-monthly Stamp Club (we are talking 13 + years here) this past Sunday. You know how you get an idea and if you don’t do it right away, it may disappear? It’s like that when I create. You can’t just write it down. Oh No! It has to be made right then and there. I’ve gotten up at 1:00 Am in the morning many a night over the years. I had this idea and spent a few minutes creating. My idea or vision worked. I decided to use the new stamp set Dandelion Wishes and emboss the Dandelions in Clear embossing powder onto Watercolor paper. Once it cooled off, I spritzed a bit of water and then added the Yellow and a bit of Gamboge powders. I stopped the heavy water movement using the heat tool. It turned out just the way I wanted. That does not always work that way either when you use Brusho. It usually does it’s own thing. So, the idea in hand and on paper, I had my ladies create a similar way and each one turned out totally different. Everyone loved it. Check out their samples:

I see you Bert!

I decided to not make a card but a nice home decor feature. Not everything has to be a card or even a scrapbooked page. Put it out for all to see. It can even be a gift. Even to oneself.

I prefered using Clear embossing powder rather than White. I was not interested in the color but rather the resist look. I believe if I had used White, it might have taken on a bit of the background color but still resisting most of it. Next time. I’m really thrilled Stampin’ Up! started to carry this product. It doesn’t matter if you are a purest by just stamping backgrounds. It’s time to shake things up. You can see why the mixed media artists have sooo much fun. Creating your own background is a lot of fun. Adding the heat tool to stop the water from pooling and being able to add quick layers of color in between drying, is a real game changer. I hope you will give it a try.
